Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: on preparations for an attack by the 21st Panzer Division supported by the German Air Force (GAF) on July 16; that positions were reported as unchanged late on July 16; a GAF air recce report for July 16; and that reinforcements for North Africa are assembling for transport from Crete from July 20; on the Russian Front: a report for July 16, that German advances in the central and southern sectors were maintained, with no important engagements in the north; the Japanese minister in Sofia reports the German air attache's views on the situation in Russia and the Mediterranean on July 4; and the Turkish military attaché in Washington comments on the U.S. outlook on the war, on July 7.
