Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: on the 21st Panzer Division's front line on July 15; on German Air Force (GAF) targets; on the location of Allied forces having penetrated the Brescia sector; that Kesselring orders a GAF operation south east of Deir El Hima; and that the Panzer Army is in urgent need of fuel and ammunition on July 13; and on Eastern Europe: that the Ground Officer Commanding (GOC) in Chief of the Armed Forces in the South East was informed of a lack of reserves, on July 1.
