Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that German tanks are unloading in Benghazi on July 14; that the 21st Panzer Division returned to its starting position, and the 90th Light Division is moving in an easterly direction, on July 14; a report for July 14; a German Air Force (GAF) operational summary for July 14; 10th Air Corps operational reports for July 13 and 14; of orders for the anti-aircraft and sea-borne attack defences of Mersa Matruh harbour, on July 14; and that the 10th Air Corps is to carry out photorecces for the Panzer Army; and on the Russian Front: that the 4th Air Fleet is to continue acting in support of ground forces, on the defensive in the Orel area and on the offensive in southern Crimea, on July 15.
