Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: on Panzer Army plans; that Rommel is to arrive at Benghazi; a report on RAF raids in the area; of a shortage of tyres in German flak units; and that air transport between Maleme and Tobruk must have an escort; Naval Headlines, covering Italian activity; and messages from the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Spanish unwillingness to be involved in the war; from the Portuguese minister in Washington on U.S. views on the current war situation; from the Turkish minister in Cairo on the Egyptian situation; from the Japanese minister in Madrid on Foreign Minister Suner's visit to Madrid; and on Turkish attitudes to the Axis.
