Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) status report for 10 July, on El Alamein; of air transport for German Army reinforcements, on 9 July; a GAF review of the strained fuel situation, with bombers being used to transport fuel, on July 10; and that the Panzer Army requests maps for the Matruh and Cairo areas, on July 9; from the Japanese minister in Sofia on the Bulgarian view of the Middle East situation, on July 2; from the Romanian minister in Madrid, of the Spanish Foreign Minister's views on Italy, on July 6; and from the Turkish ambassador in Rome on Italian military failings in North Africa, on July 4.
