Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of an aviation fuel shortage for the German Air Force (GAF) in Africa, and that transport aircraft are only to fly to Tobruk where refuelling is not necessary, on July 7; that the Panzer Army is desperate for fuel and ammunition, as of July 7; on North Africa: that 646 replacements arrived in the Panzer Army on July 7; that a lack of fighter escorts stopped GAF towed glider operations from Crete, on July 7; that British forces again appeared in the Axis rear on July 8, making increased vigilance necessary; and on Italian Air Force attacks against Malta, on July 7; on the Russian Front: status reports for July 3-7; that the Crimean Peninsula was taken by the Germans; and of complete GAF air superiority on the Kursk front; and on the German Navy, a summary for July 8.
