Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) status report for July 7; on ground support for the Panzer Army and details of Allied air attacks; a Panzer Army status report for July 7; that 1300 replacement personnel were in position by July 7; and a schedule of the air and sea transport of personnel and supplies to Africa on July 7 and 8; Naval Headlines, covering details of German and Italian operations; from the Turkish chargé in Kuibyshev, on U.S. attempts to persuade the Soviet Union to allow the use of Russian airfields for attacks against Japan, on July 3; from the Turkish ambassador in Vichy, on the French reaction to the situation in the Mediterranean, on July 4; and from the Spanish ambassador in London, that Churchill survives a vote of confidence, and Britain will continue the war with tenacity, on July 3.
