Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the tanker Fassio is urgently required in Crete otherwise the fuel supply to the Panzer Army could be jeopardised, on July 3; on the locations of German Air Force (GAF) units in Libya and Egypt on July 4; a 10th Air Corps strength and serviceability return of aircraft in Greece and Crete for July 3; a GAF operational summary for July 3 including RAF activities; a German agent's report of the Allied forces' strengths in Famagusta, Palestine and Egypt, for July 3; and Naval Headlines, covering the Admiral Scheer, Leutzow, Tirpitz and Admiral Hipper being at sea on July 3; and that U-boats and aircraft have been in contact with convoy PQ17.
