Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on an Arctic convoy: 6 sighting reports on PQ, from July 2; on North Africa: that the German 90 Light division is moving up to attack, on July 2; that German Air Force (GAF) night landing facilities are being prepared at Shterasat for July 2-3; on the location of Kesselring's Battle HQ, on July 2; that the 10th Air Corps is to be ready to assist the Panzer Army in making difficult progress against El Alamein, on July 2; on requests for fighter protection against continuous Allied bombing raids; of operational signals relating to attack preparations for July 3; of an Italian intention to use cruisers in the eastern Mediterranean as escorts for troop transports, on July 1; an German intelligence report identifying General Maxwell as the Commander-in-Chief (CinC) of the U.S. Army troops in the Middle East on June 27; and on German and Italian supreme commands' orders for French naval units to be allowed to sail unhindered from Alexandria on a westerly or north westerly course only, on July 3.
