Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: reports from the Panzer Army for June 14 and 15; on the Mediterranean: German Air Force (GAF) reports of losses and successes against shipping; an Italian naval report for June 15; and an Italian interrogation of Free French prisoners of war reveals their sabotage intentions against North Africa and Crete; on the Russian Front: on indications that Goering may have set up a headquarters at Poltawa, on June 14; of the arrival of U.S. heavy bombers in Sevastopol on June 14; and a report of a decision in Moscow to prepare for defensive rather than attacking action, on June 12; Naval Headlines; the Italian minister in Dublin reports Irish fears of air raids, on June 8; an Italian report of Axis propaganda successes in India, on June 8; on the Italian view of the Japanese offensive in China, on June 13; a Portuguese report on Turkish opinions on a U.K.-Soviet treaty, on June 13; from the Turkish minister in Madrid of speculation on the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs' visit to Paris and Rome, on June 13; and a Japanese report on a forthcoming meeting between the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Ciano, on June 11.
