Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Mediterranean: that the German Air Force (GAF) seek air defence equipment in order to establish a night fighter defence on Crete, on June 10; and that the GAF warn of impending Allied attacks on islands in the Aegean, on June 10; on North Africa: of Panzer Army requirements for GAF attacks on Hakeim on June 11; Naval Headlines, covering German and Italian activity; from the Portuguese Minister for Foreign Affairs on important Anglo-U.S. talks with the Soviets in Washington, on June 8; and from the Portuguese minister in Berlin, that Hitler visited Finland to prevent Finland making peace with the Soviet Union.
