This file includes the following reports: that German Air Force (GAF) Africa are to undertake a large-scale operation with reduced forces; that the 10th Air Corps was ordered to ferry in all dive bombers from Crete, on May 26; that Italian troops newly arrived in Africa are deficient in training and weapons, but required for a special operation, on May 22; a German intelligence report that the British forces are expecting a German attack; that the Germans are short of motor transport in Benghazi, on May 25; on air reconnaissance of convoy PQ16, and preparations for bomb and torpedo attacks, on May 26-27; and Naval Headlines, covering a German secret service warning of the sailing of an Allied combined operation force, on May 18, noted by the First Sea Lord (ISL) as untrue.
