Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a Japanese report of an Italian assessment of Portuguese-British relations, on May 16; that the Japanese newspapers are instructed to play down the importance of the Kerch offensive, on May 18; a report from the Mexican minister in Vichy of an interview with Laval, on May 14; a Turkish report of Italian views on the war situation, on May 16; on a Romanian rumour of Japanese mediation between Russia and Germany, on May 16; and of a Finnish assessment of German strategy in the spring offensive, on May 18.
