This file includes the following reports: that rigid fuel economy has been imposed on German Air Force (GAF) Africa, on May 17; a summary of German naval operations on all fronts, for May 17; Naval Headlines, that the Prinz Eugen left Trondheim, on May 15; the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chungking reports Chinese dissatisfaction with the British, on May 15; a Japanese report of difficulties in transporting Hungarian troops to the Eastern Front, on May 13; a Japanese report of conditions in Russian central Asia, on May 14; on the Turkish military attaché's first impressions of Spain, on May 13; the Italian ambassador in Madrid reports a Spanish minister's belief in an impending U.K.-U.S. attack in north west Africa, on May 13, and rumours of an Allied intention to occupy Turkey; and that decryptions of German infra-red detection devices are to be at the disposal of Kesselring from May 15; with a comment from the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) on May 20.
