This file includes the following reports: that German railway travel behind the central Russian Front was endangered by partisan attacks, on May 15; a German Air Force (GAF) supply return for May 15; that the Italian armed forces in Africa requested an air photo mosaic from the Germans, on May 15; that an automatic meteorological station is to be set up [at Spitzbergen] on May 15; on Ciano's response to letters from the Grand Mufti and Gailani, quoted by the Japanese ambassador in Rome, on May 12; that Vishinsky is querying the Japanese delay in accepting the Soviet ambassador designate, on May 12; the Chilean ambassador in Berlin reports that the Germans are examining Russian poison gas, on May 13; a Turkish report from Rome on Italian perceptions of the war, on May 13; a 10th Air Corps report for May 11, including reports of attacks on British ships in the Mediterranean; and notes to the Prime Minister (PM) from the First Sea Lord (ISL) and the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS).
