A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following messages: the Saudi minister in Vichy reports that the French are resisting Axis pressure to use Tunis as a base, on May 9; a Swedish comment on a meeting between Hitler and Mussolini, on May 6; a Japanese report of a meeting of the Indian People's Congress party, on May 5; the Japanese chargé reviews conditions in Malaya, on May 5; Togo's statement to the Japanese ambassador in Berlin on the military and economic situation in occupied China, on May 7; the Japanese ambassador in Berlin reports that the Germans are reading Japanese ciphers, on May 7; the Japanese ambassador in Ankara denies the presence of U.S. capital ships in the Mediterranean, on May 9; the Portuguese minister in Tokyo reports on a Japanese intention to attack New Caledonia, on May 10; the Turkish ambassador in Rome quotes Italian intelligence reports on the Eastern Front and the Mediterranean, on May 8; and a Japanese complaint of German mischief in China, on May 5.
