Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a German Air Force (GAF) report for May 8 covering all fronts including the Far East; on instructions for operation BIRKE, involving aircraft and ships in Norway, on May 5; an Italian report on Italian-German reservations over the declaration on Arab independence, on May 5; a Japanese report on conditions in Malaya and Singapore, on May 4; the Japanese relay an intelligence report of an Allied fleet concentration in Durban on May 4; the Japanese consul in Dublin comments on a British bye-election, on May 5; the Japanese minister in Madrid relays an intelligence report from London, on May 6; the Turkish ambassador in Vichy comments on French relations with the Axis, on May 5; the German representative in Vichy comments on Madagascar, on May 6; and a report on the views of the Portuguese minister in Pretoria on Madagascar, on May 6.
