Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following messages: the Japanese ambassador in Vichy reports talks with French cabinet ministers, on May 3; the Italian ambassador in Tokyo reports that Japan is ready to mediate between Russia and Germany, on May 3; the Japanese ambassador in Rome reports the timing of an Axis declaration to India and Arabia on May 3; that Heinkel aircraft construction works and the Neptune naval arsenal were destroyed in heavy air raids on Rostock, on May 4; the Turkish chargé in Kuibyshev reports on the U.S. ambassador's interview with Stalin, on May 4; the Portuguese minister in Vichy reports on an interview with Laval, on May 2; and the Japanese ambassador in Vichy reports on Franco-German relations, on May 5.
