This file includes the following reports: a German naval report of attacks on convoys PQ11 and PQ15, from May 3; that a conference has been arranged to discuss a combined operation against the desert railway, on May 4; the Naval Headlines, covering operations against convoy PQ15; a Japanese Foreign Ministry circular regarding propaganda arising from an 'enemy' air raid, on April 27; the Japanese ambassador in Ankara relays a report from Delhi on the Indian situation, on April 28; that the French ambassador in Peking warned the Japanese of Chinese forces massing on the frontier of French Indo-China, on April 28; on Japanese proposals to Germany on spheres of leadership, on May 1; on Japanese plans for India, on May 1; the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs relays the U.S. minister's views on the Indian situation, on April 27; the Turkish minister in Ankara reports depression in Germany and hunger in Italy, on April 29; the Turkish chargé in Madrid reports hints of Axis designs on Turkey, on April 30; and a report of German troop ships sailing bound for Norway, on April 30; this was queried by the Prime Minister (PM); included is a reply by the First Sea Lord (ISL) (see also 9352).
