A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the German Air Force (GAF) report the sabotage of air defence equipment at Benghazi on April 21; on Crete: that Italian troops are to be reinforced in May; on North Africa: a Panzer Army report for April 25 and their intentions for April 26-27; on the Mediterranean: that GAF units are to move on April 28; on the Southern Russian Front: that the GAF and the Army are to combine to protect bridges over the Dnieper, on April 27; and on GAF operational orders for April 28; from the French ambassador in Washington on U.S. attitudes towards Britain, on April 22; from the Italian chargé in Ankara on a decline in Turco-Soviet relations, on April 22; from the Japanese ambassador in Ankara on a reported decline in Red Army morale, on April 22; the Japanese ambassador in Berlin reports difficulties with the Axis declaration on India and Arabia, on April 22; the Portuguese minister in Berlin reports German scepticism towards the Laval government, on April 24; and the Turkish minister in Stockholm reports the Swedish C-in-C's (Commander in Chief's) views on the possibility of an Allied landing in Europe, on April 23.
