Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: that the German Air Force (GAF) are to make use of Italian eaves-dropping facilities to gain information from PoWs, on April 25; that the GAF AOC (Air Officer Commanding) in Chief South is to arrive on April 27 for a consultation with Rommel; from the Japanese minister in Madrid on the likely effect of an Allied attack on French possessions on Laval's policy, on April 23; the minister forwards the Spanish ambassador in Washington's report on U.S. attitudes to the war, on April 23; from the Turkish military attaché in Kuibyshev on the war situation, on April 21; and from the Turkish ambassador in Rome on Axis fears of Allied landings in Portugal and Morocco, on April 22.
