This file includes the following reports: a report of the air and ground situation in Libya, for April 14; that a convoy from Murmansk was attacked by German aircraft on April 13; that attacks on shipping and harbour installations at Murmansk are planned for April 15; that preparations for an airborne operation in the northern sector of the Russian Front are to be completed by April 16: Operations FREISCHUETZ and CHOLM; that the 8th Air Corps was withdrawn from the central sector of the Russian Front on April 14; on orders for the landing operation at Demyansk on April 16; that the Turkish minister in London was invited to accompany Churchill on a visit to the U.S., to discuss the provision of materials to Turkey, on April 8; the Turkish minister in Stockholm reports Swedish views on the war and the situation in Norway, on April 11; a Turkish report on Japanese-Soviet relations of April 9; and a Japanese report from Vichy on French relations with Germany, of March 30.
