Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a German Air Force (GAF) Africa operational report for April 9; the GAF report the repulse of a British thrust south east of Tmimi, on April 8; the 10th Air Corps reports that photographic reconnaissance of Alexandria was prevented by British fighter aircraft, on April 9; Panzer Army Africa report the repulse of a British thrust, on April 9; the 10th Air Corps report bombing raids on Qutaifiya and Bir El Abd, on April 9; the GAF report on April 10 the capture of a British commando who had taken part in a raid on Berca on March 20; a report from operational division naval staff for April 10, covering north Norway, the Atlantic coast, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean, and the Black Sea; a report of an RAF raid on Heraklion, on April 9; that the 4th Air Fleet's instructions for operations on April 10 include the destruction of installations at Kerch; on the establishment of a new GAF command in Eastern Europe, on April 9; that aviation fuel is in short supply for the GAF in Russia, on April 10; the Bulgarian minister in Vichy reports on Franco-German relations on April 4; and the Japanese ambassador in Rome reports on an Axis guarantee of Iraqi independence, on April 8.
