Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a fragment of a German ground forces report for March 24; and that the German Air Force (GAF) are preparing to attack a desert railway, on March 26; on the Mediterranean: a GAF report on a raid on Malta on March 26; on Norway: a GAF report of the location of merchant ships, on March 27; on Greece: the GAF report demonstrations but no sabotage, on March 27; on the Russian Front: a 2nd Panzer Army report of March 25; from the Chinese minister in Ankara, on war in the Soviet Union and in the Middle East as it affects Turkey, on March 23; from the Italian minister in Dublin on U.S. troops in Ulster and British morale, on March 24; from the Japanese minister in Sofia on Turkey and Anglo-Soviet plans, on March 19; from the Japanese minister in Helsinki on Finland's economy, on March 23; and from the Turkish ambassador in Kuibyshev on the impending move of Polish troops from the Soviet Union to the Middle East, on March 24.
