Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on the Mediterranean: that the Chief of Staff (COS) of the AOC (Air Officer Commanding) in Chief South is to visit Crete on March 27; a German Air Force (GAF) report of operations against the Malta convoy, on March 20-23; a GAF report of attacks on Malta on March 24; a report of GAF attacks on Malta on March 25; and that the AOC GAF X Air Corps is back from leave, on March 26; on North Africa: that GAF bomber crews are to be issued with one-man dinghies, on March 25; on the Russian Front: a GAF report of Soviet assault unit and Soviet cavalry movements on March 25; a GAF report on Soviet fortifications on March 26; of GAF operations and reconnaissance orders for March 27; of a GAF order on lubricant shortages on March 26; and that a GAF bomber unit was moved to the Eastern Front on March 26.
