A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: Naval Headlines, covering Italian activity; on Japan: a note from Tokyo on the U.S. and joint defence of American countries, from March 4; from Turkey's ambassador in Vichy, views on talk of a Soviet-German armistice, from March 5; and from Portugal's minister in Ankara, on German preparations for a Spring offensive and suggestions of efforts for a settlement, from March 9.
