This file includes the following reports: that the German Air Force (GAF) Commander-in-Chief (CinC) South is asking the Army for protection for advanced aerodromes in North Africa, on March 1; on GAF operational orders for March 2; on GAF measures to deal with the shortage of ammunition on the Russian Front, on March 1; on difficulties in the railway coal supply in Ukraine, on February 25-26; on Italian forces' acute supply problem, on February 27; and a Naval Headlines report of March 2 on German and Italian activity. This file also includes the following correspondence: French assurances to the U.S. of neutrality on February 23; a note from the French Consul in Chungking on Chiang Kai Shek's visit to India, from February 26; and a message from the Italian ambassador in Madrid suggesting that the Soviets may attack Manchuria, on February 27.
