Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: a reply of the First Sea Lord (1SL) to the Prime Minister (PM) on a report of damage to German battle cruisers being given to the President on February 22; and the PM's instruction to the 1SL about the same. This file also includes the following Naval Headlines report: part of a report for February 20 dealing with damage to battle cruisers discussed above, and a report on German and Italian activity; a report from the Turkish minister in Stockholm on reasons for the move of German naval ships to Norway, from February 19; and a report from the Turkish ambassador in Berlin on Ribbentrop's views on the war situation, from February 19.
