Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes a BONIFACE report on the Mediterranean: that further elements of the Italian 51st Division had arrived in Crete from Greece on January 8. This file also includes the following BONIFACE reports on the Russian Front: that the 4th Air Fleet had been instructed to form fighting companies from within the signals and works regiments for emergency deployment on January 9; that a long-range bomber unit in the central Russian sector had suffered heavy losses from Soviet low-level attacks, on January 9; and on detailed orders for a large-scale counter-attack in Crimea from January 8.
