A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following BONIFACE reports on North Africa: that air transport from Greece to North Africa was to stop; that the date for the evacuation of Benghazi was requested so that mines could be laid in the harbour from December 22; that the 10th Air Corps was instructed to prepare for the mining of Benghazi harbour; and that Kesselring was to arrive at Agedabia on December 22. This file also contains the following BONIFACE reports on the Russian Front: that the main forces of the 56th Army Corps were occupying their final defensive positions on the Eastern Front, on December 21; and that Army Group North reported that the 39th and 1st Army Corps were retreating, that Soviet pressure was increasing, and that attacks were being renewed on the Neva Front and around Leningrad on December 20.
