Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: that Tmini in North Africa was being evacuated in the face of the approach of British forces; that on the Russian Front a Soviet offensive in the Kalinin area was increasing in strength on December 11; and that the situation of German forces in the Tula area was critical on December 11. This file also includes a report from the Chinese chargé in Vichy on French views of the war situation from December 9; a report from the French ambassador in Buenos Aires on Argentinian views on involvement in the war from December 8; a report from the Portuguese minister in Washington on Spanish apprehension over Hitler's intentions from December 9; comments of the Turkish ambassador in Washington on Russia and the war in the Far East on December 9; and a report from the Turkish ambassador in Berlin on German views on the war in the Far East from December 9.
