Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This files includes the following reports: that the German Air Force (GAF) 10 Air Corps finds it impracticable to employ Condor aircraft in the Mediterranean from December 7; from the GAF in North Africa that additional flying units means additional aviation fuel and that destroyers are to be used for transhipment, from December 7; that all German motor transports are to be marked for identification by aircraft from December 7; that GAF fighters are to be sent to protect Navarino at Crete on December 7; on targets for December 8 for GAF bombers at Athens; and Naval Headlines reports on Italian activity. The file also includes a note from the Japanese ambassador in Berlin reporting that he has received a news report of Japanese-U.S. war and that Ribbentrop says Germany and Italy will participate.
