Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: of German Army fuel stocks at Benghazi, on November 25; on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) reconnaissance report on the RAF, on November 27; on North Africa: Italian Air Force fighters and bombers are to move to Africa in late November; GAF bombers are to be withdrawn to Greece, from November 28; German ammunition is to be sent to Derna by air, from November 25; Derna aerodrome is closed to all except GAF transports, from November 28; on North Africa: the GAF request aerodrome serviceability reports for FW200 aircraft, on November 28; that the GAF in South-east Europe and North Africa are to use dispersal and camouflage to counter enemy air attacks, on November 28; on the Mediterranean: of proposed German and Italian shipping movements, on November 28; and on North Africa: on the German Army's fuel situation, on November 25.
