Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: Naval Headlines, covering German and Italian activity; the Italian minister in Bangkok sends a report on British and Japanese forces in Malay and Indo-China, on November 19; from the Japanese ambassador in Bangkok on Thai fears of Japan, from November 10; from the Japanese charg� in London on changes in the British General-Staff, on November 19; from the Portuguese minister in Ankara on Japanese intentions in the Pacific, on November 19; from Turkey's military attach� in Kuibyshev, a report on the Russian fronts, on November 19; from the Turkish minister in Madrid: a report of French denial of cooperation with Spain and Germany, on November 19; and from the U.S., a plea for Churchill to encourage the U.S. industrial war effort, from November 18.
