Description

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: a German Air Force (GAF) report of November 19 suggests the RAF have dropped sabotage detachments; and GAF Battle HQ has moved to Gazala; on the Mediterranean: an Italian tanker is to sail to Benghazi on November 23; on the Mediterranean/North Africa: a report of a GAF shortage of fighters; and of the GAF's intentions for November 21; on North Africa: the GAF orders all available bombers at Benina to be prepared for a ground attack; on the Mediterranean: a GAF report of November 20; on North Africa: of GAF Gazala's readiness for return, on November 21; on the Moscow Front: GAF operational orders for November 19; and on North Africa: a GAF report on RAF strength on November 20; and the Italians at Benghazi request a hospital ship to evacuate the wounded.
