Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: the move of the 5th Mountain Division from Crete is to be carried out as transport becomes available; of 10th Air Corps operations on November 16; of photographic reconnaissance on Jarabub airfield on November 15; that General Von Pohl flew from Brindisi for Derna; that no aircraft were available for reconnaissance on November 16; that Brook is en route for Benghazi carrying bombs, ammunition, rations and building supplies; Naval Headlines, covering that the Admiral Scheer is to return to Kiel, and that the Italian motor vessels Pisani, Napoli and Monginevra, escorted by the 8th Cruiser Division, including the Abruzzi, Montecuccoli and Gorizia, are sailing for Tripoli on November 17; of a Chinese request for air support from the U.K. and U.S., on November 12; a Chinese report of a U.S.-Japanese meeting of November 10; an Italian report of Afghan Assembly proceedings on November 12; a Japanese report of Ciano's visit to Germany, from November 10; and a Japanese report of the British attitude towards Japan, from November 11.
