Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: reports of Soviet attacks on, and hand fighting for, Kalinin, on October 22; of the 4th Air Fleet's intentions on October 22-23, supporting the 11th Army in the face of strong Soviet resistance; of a lack of fuel preventing operations of the 4th and 5th Air Corps on October 22; of bad weather preventing the supply of aviation fuel to Taganrog on October 22; of German forces difficulties in the Crimean Isthmus on October 21; that all 10th Air Corps leave personnel are to return to Derna via Italy vice Athens on October 22; on signals equipment for Africa, from October 14; that large air transports are not to be refuelled in Africa, from October 22; a report of air reconnaissance over Egypt on October 22; a German Air Force (GAF) staff report on the fuel shortage in Cyrenaica, on October 22; an Italian order of battle in Croatia on October 22; the Naval Headlines, covering Soviet morale after the fall of Odessa, reported by the Bulgarian attaché in Moscow on October 19; a Japanese report of the internal situation on October 20; and a Mexican report of the Germans' view of the war situation, from October 21.
