This file includes the following reports: of air activities east of Mozhaisk; of snow drifts and soft ground hampering taking off on October 18; that Hitler requires daily serviceability reports of Panzer divisions, from October 16; a summary of Eastern Front operations on October 18; of the German safety bombing line near Rostov on October 18; a report of October 18 of an RAF raid on Derna including a damage report and German air activity; that a conference of air group commanders is to be held, possibly at Derna, on October 20; that German destroyers are carrying troops from Augusta to Benghazi on October 21; that the tugs Marsigli and Max Berendt and the destroyer Cascino sailed to the assistance of the Caterina convoy on October 19; and Naval Headlines, covering U-boat contacts with the home-bound SC Convoy; the reported sinking of the U.S. destroyer Kerney on October 17; that six U-boats are waiting for a convoy from Gibraltar; and the convoy Caterina sailing from Naples on October 16 for Tripoli was attacked by aircraft on October 17.
