Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports on North Africa: the German Air Force (GAF) report that aerodromes in Greece and Africa are deep in mud because of rain; and a GAF report that one valuable convoy per week is to sail to Tripoli or Benghazi; on the Russian fronts: the GAF forecast of supply ops for October 17; and a German military situation report for October 15; on the Moscow Front: a German interim report for October 16; on the Russian fronts: a German situation report for October 16; on the Southern Russian Front: operational plans for October 17; on the Russian fronts: an incomplete German report for October 16; on the Northern Russian Front: a situation report by the 12th Flak Division for October 16; on the Russian Front: a report on GAF air re-supply; on the Southern Russian Front: GAF operational orders for October 17; a report on German police activity on the Russian fronts in late September; and the Italian ambassador in Washington reports U.S. concern that Japan might take advantage of the Soviets' difficulties on the German Front to seize territory in the Far East; and an impasse in U.S.-Japanese talks.
