This file includes the following reports: on the 4th Air Fleet's intentions for October 7, to support the 11th Army and 1st Panzer Group and prevent the evacuation of Soviet forces from Berdyansk; that Group Von Schwedler was opposed by stubborn Soviet resistance west of Kharkov; that Soviet forces are retreating eastward to avoid encirclement north of the Sea of Azov; of the 7th Air Division on the northern part of the Russian Front; that the 1st Panzer Group has been renamed the 1st Panzer Army on October 7; on the operational orders of the 4th Air Fleet on October 7: to support the 11th Army and 1 Panzer Army advances and the 6th Army attack on Kharkov; that Novorosiisk harbour is to be mined; that Berdyansk was captured by the 11th Army, the 1st Panzer Army is pushing on towards Maryupol, and the 6th Army is attacking in the direction of Kharkov; that German fighter aircraft have moved forward to Yukhnov, in the central region of the Russian Front; that the 18th Panzer Division entered Bryansk on October 6; that the Germans reported Soviet operational signal deploying forces to the rear of Panzer troops on October 6; a situation report on October 7 indicating fighting and a German breakthrough of the 7th Panzer Division north of Vyasma; an operational report on the central section of the Russian Front on October 6; that Admiral Schulter is flying from Berlin to Sofia on October 8, on a special task of the supreme command of the navy; and that Air force personnel on leave from Libya were to return immediately on October 1.
