Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: intelligence on 1st Panzer Group thrusts towards Mariupol on the Sea of Azov; that an Italian expeditionary corps is to relieve elements of the 3rd Panzer Corps and the 198th Infantry Division; on the shortage of aviation fuel in the 4th Air Fleet area of Ukraine because of transport difficulties; on the transfer of paratroops to the Leningrad area on October 4; on 43rd Army Corps dispositions for October 5; on German preparations to transport fuel for the German Air Force (GAF) from Constanza by sea to the mouth of the Dnestr and Nikolaev rivers; on dispositions near the western shore of the Sea of Azov for October 5; on German armoured forces advances along the Roslavl-Moscow road on October 5; 10th Air Corps reports of the results of an air raid on Suez; on the possibility that October 10 may be Day D for Operation B; and a report from the Italian ambassador in Madrid of the Japanese minister's views on Myron Taylor's visit to the Pope.
