Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following messages: a summary of naval messages; a query from the Prime Minister (PM); reports of U-boat activities, including a claim to have sunk the SS San Florentino; a report that a convoy sailed from Naples for Tripoli with the designator C, including the ships Filzi, Pisani, Rialto, Veniero, Reichenfels and Ankara, escorted by 5 destroyers and was due to arrive in Tripoli on October 5; and a report that magnetic mines in Tripoli harbour sank tugs, the Bari and Follonica and damaged the Sivigliano.
