This file includes the following reports: intelligence on 1st Panzer Group locations on October 2; on armoured units pushing south from a bridgehead at Novomoskovsk on October 3; of a report being required on the failure of German aerial torpedoes on October 3; on the probable course of a convoy due to arrive in Tripoli on October 5 - the convoy has the designator C and consists of the ships Filzi, Pisani, Rialto, Veniero, Reichenfels and Ankara, and is to be escorted by five destroyers; a report that the Chief of the Italian Air Staff, accompanied by senior Italian and German officers, will visit Athens from Bucharest on October 6; that ten JU88 aircraft were transferred to Africa to strengthen convoy escorts as part of 10th Air Corps orders for October 4; a report from October 2 of the sinking of the Castellon, which was carrying German military supplies; the reported loss of the auxiliary vessel Imperia in Benghazi on October 3; and a report on punitive measures taken against the civilian population, stating that 230 death sentences on Greeks had been carried out since July 1.
