A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: intelligence on an RAF raid on Benghazi from October 1-2; on German air activity, including the intentions of the 10th Air Corps; a report that the SS Carla was torpedoed and sunk on its way to Benghazi on October 2; on problems caused by bad weather for German forces on the Eastern Front; and a report by the Japanese ambassador to Turkey of the effect of the war on German-Turkish relations. The file also includes Naval Headlines report 95, covering night-flying restrictions in the Lorient area from October 2-15.
