A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: intelligence on a German attack along the whole front to be continued against Kharkov on September 28; on German dispositions in the Kremenchug-Dniepropetrovsk area on September 27; on the movement of the German Heavy Cruiser 'Scheer' from Kiel to Hamburg on September 28; on a German Air Force (GAF) unit in North Africa being hit by losses, sickness and the unfitness for service of personnel; and on the movements of Italian naval formations in the Mediterranean on September 28. This file also includes Naval Headlines report 90, covering U-boat claims against a convoy from Sierra Leone on September 24 and U-boat attacks against a northbound convoy from Gibraltar on September 25.
