Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: that the Leningrad sector is almost denuded of aircraft to increase the reinforcement of the Smolensk sector on September 24; that thousands of Soviet prisoners were taken in mopping-up operations in the Kiev sector; that the Spanish Air Force squadron was arriving in Minsk after September 26; that single-engined fighters were being sent to Holland; that the Italian steamship Petrarca was damaged in Benghazi harbour, but able to sail on September 25; that the Almena would sail for Bardia from Piraeus on September 25; and that the Italian minister in Tehran reported that the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem had been granted asylum in the Japanese Legation on August 31.
