Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a message about the reinforcement of the central sector of the Russian Front from the southern sector; a report of the difficult transport situation in the Nikolaev area; a report that the German ground troops were dissatisfied with their fighter protection; a report of a proposed conference between the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) 10th Air Corps and the Ground Officer Commanding (GOC) Africa Corps; a report that underground storage tanks for aviation fuel for Africa are ready for despatch in Germany but there is no separate transport available; an order for German Air Force (GAF) personnel on leave in Greece to be urgently recalled to Africa, and a request for a flying boat to Derna; arrangements for the destroyer standing by the grounded ship Marigola to be relieved; a report of an air operation in Serbia against the insurgents; a German police order for all leave to be stopped from September 9 in Norway, and everyone on home leave to be recalled; and a report from the Japanese chargé in London on September 18 on the British attitude to the Japanese and U.S.-Japanese negotiations, the war situation and British views on the war in southern Ukraine, British actions in Iran and U.S. views on the possible inclusion of Russia in the lease-lend programme.
