Government Code and Cypher School: Signals Intelligence Passed to the Prime Minister, Messages and Correspondence

A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following correspondence: a communiqué from the German Air Force (GAF) Operation Staff to the air attaché with a German general in Zagreb summarising the situation in Western Europe, Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean; a report that the Sabbia convoy left Tripoli on September 19; situation reports for the Southern Front for September 19; a request for Vichy French cooperation in German efforts to obtain Turkish chrome from September 16; a report from the French ambassador in Beyoglu on the trade negotiations between the Turks and Germans; a Vichy report indicating Marshal Petain was showing his age, and that Admiral Darlan was trying to prevent access by his personal physician on September 18; and a report of the French attitude towards German demands for Syrian troops being reformed in the south of France to constitute a North Africa Division. This file also includes a Naval Headlines report of Italian activity in the Baltic and the Mediterranean.
