This file includes the following reports: on operational orders for the 2nd Air Corps based south of Smolensk telling them to prepare two groups at an hour's readiness for raids on Moscow; on 4th Air Fleet orders for September 17; reports that the 1st Panzer Group had advanced beyond the River Sula, the 6th Army continued its attack on Kiev from the east, and that air attacks were mounted on Kiev and Odessa; a report of a convoy leaving Naples in September carrying oil, ammunition and equipment; reports of rebel Communist activity in Croatia and Serbia, and suggestions from the 718 Infantry Division that Zvornik is threatened; a report that General von Rintelen, attached to Italian General Headquarters (GHQ), was to arrive in Athens on September 19, in Crete on September 20, and in Rhodes and Athens once more on September 21; a German police report on September 13 that Carinthia was not yet pacified; a report from the Italian ambassador in Buenos Aires of a U.S. initiative regarding defence plans for the Americas; and a report from the Italian ambassador in Washington of a Spanish ambassador's views on the U.S. President's attitude to the war.
