A file of signals intelligence reports, messages, and correspondence issued by the Government Code and Cypher School and sent by the head ('C') of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) to the Prime Minister, Winston Churchill. This file includes the following reports: a 1st Panzer Group situation report from September 15, stating that the 14th Panzer Division repulsed a Soviet attack on the east flank of their advance, that the 48th Division and 9th Panzer Division were advancing in the face of obstinate resistance by armed civilians, and that the 11th Army Corps had captured Goroschin clearing the line between Lubny and the Dnieper; a report of the state of readiness of a fighter unit in North Africa; a report of a serious oil shortage in France on September 15; and a report that the tankers Pluviose, Firuz, Vendemiaire and Dauphine were to shuttle oil from Constanza via the Corinth Canal. This file also contains a Naval Headlines report noting Italian activity in support of Tripoli and Benghazi; and a report from the German police noting the disruption of communications as a result of a heavy air raid on Kessel on September 9.
